Monitor your heart rate with the Beurer PO80 Pulse Oximeter

Whether you’re an athlete, a stay-at-home mum, or you sit at a desk for most of the day; it’s important to understand your heart rate so you can recognise any irregularities; after all, your heart looks after you – you should look after it too! The Beurer PO80 Pulse Oximeter with its PC software allows you to check your heart rate quickly and accurately and gives you a detailed analysis of your measurements so you can monitor your progress and your development.

What is your heart rate (pulse)?

Your heart rate is the number of times your heart beats per minute.  As we age, the heart’s rate and regularity of its beat can change, possibly signifying a heart condition that needs to be addressed. But without measuring your heart rate, how will you know for sure? The Beurer PO80 pulse oximeter can give you accurate results of your heart rate whether you wish to regularly monitor your heart rate or need to do so in a short-term basis.

You can check your pulse manually by using your fingers and counting the number of beats in 60 seconds, but this technique isn't always reliable and can be inaccurate. The Beurer PO80 does it all for you, and what’s more, your results can be transferred to your PC, allowing you to refer back to previous measurements and share the information with your GP.

What is oxygen saturation (Sp0₂)?

Simply put, this is the amount of oxygen in your blood. Those who have lower oxygen saturation are more likely to experience problems such as difficulty breathing, shortness of breath, physical weakness, and outbreaks of sweating, nervousness and increased heart rate. If you already suffer from any of these problems but you can’t quite put your finger on why, the Beurer PO80 pulse oximeter could help you find your answer.

Who should use the Beurer PO80 Pulse Oximeter?

The Beurer PO80 pulse oximeter can be used by anyone who needs to monitor their heart rate regularly for medical reasons, or those who want to track their fitness progression; the lower your heart rate during cardio exercise, the fitter you are.

If you suffer from heart related or respiratory problems such as heart failure, bronchial asthma and chronic obstructive pulmonary diseases; then measuring your heart rate is a must so you can avoid life-threatening situations and improve your health.

Taking part in high altitude challenges or athletic sports sure gets your heart racing; the Beurer PO80 can help you monitor your heart rate and analyse your progress during and after training. The Beurer PO80 is light and compact so you can take it with you wherever you go.

Beurer PO80 Display Image

The Beurer PO80 exhibits a large, bright display for clarity when reading your measurements, and with the software that comes with the pulse oximeter, your results will transmit onto your computer for even more detailed analysis. You can adjust the brightness of the display to your personal preference. The display shows the alarm symbol, pulse tone symbol, battery indicator, pulse rate (value in bpm), pulse bar, pulse wave, SpO₂ alarm (lower limit) and oxygen saturation (value in %) – everything you need to know about your heart in one small, compact device!

You can set your value limits and an alarm will signal when your heart rate has reached this value. This is handy during exercise, should you wish to level your heart rate at a certain speed.

It’s completely pain free and you can use the finger pulse oximeter at home, work or on the move; it charges up through USB cable from your computer and lets you know when your long-life battery is running low.

Dr Ellie Cannon Explains the Importance of using a Pulse Oximeter

I don’t tend to lend medical equipment to friends and family. But this time I made an exception. I’m sure this device saved him from hospital admission – and it may even have saved his life.

Called a pulse oximeter or sats probe, it measures the amount of oxygen in the blood. GPs and hospitals use them all the time… With Covid-19 sweeping the nation, I think there should be one in every home because monitoring our blood oxygen can help catch this unpredictable illness before it turns deadly.

I’m not the only one who thinks so – last week experts at Cambridge University made the same plea. Professor Babak Javid, a consultant in infectious diseases, said the tool could help spot early warning signs of the virus, in the absence of face-to-face GP appointments.

The Software

Exclusive to the Beurer PO80 Pulse Oximeter, this software allows you to display your measurement values in real time on a PC. This gives you a clear analysis in front of your eyes and also provides you with the option to print off your results if you wish to share them with a doctor or keep them long-term.

This very simple and easy to use software provides you with a summary report, full study report, OxiMetry report and strip chart report and gives you an automatic appraisal of the recorded data. This printout serves exclusively to support the diagnostic findings of your attending doctor – the printing is not a substitute for a medical certificate and is not exhaustive but will give your GP a clear view of your health.

Show your heart a little TLC; with the Beurer PO80 pulse oximeter and software.
